This product replaced a similar "space saver GE model. Size was a big issue of built in cupboard space. Item was close fit but w some work and money the contractor was able to get it in the space. So we didn't plug it in till it was in the built in unit. It was then that we noticed the light in the interior unit is way under usability pertaining to monitoring the food cooking in the unit. One cannot see anything in the unit cooking. It is way way too dark. Very disappointed. And looking at the unit one could not change the light bulb if one had to. Poor design/engineering.

This replaces a 10 year old GER profile product. It is nice and narrow in depth allowing it to sit up a cabinet (14" depth shelf in cabinet)

We remodeled our kitchen, and I chose to replace our bulky Walmart microwave, which has worked for years, with an over-the-counter model. The GE microwave was far more expensive, but worth it? Not at all. The model that was sent to me was broken. GE sent an appliance repair man, who said it couldn't be fixed and I should ask for a new one. I did, and GE sent the same repair man again, who wrote down for me what the problem was with the microwave and said I should ask for a new one. GE had the repair man order parts to fix the microwave. I received the microwave in March; it was installed in mid-May. It's less powerful than the Walmart microwave and I worry that it will break at any time.

We bought a GE Profile Microwave in 2008. Our kitchen cabinets were designed to fit that model. The old unit is performing poorly so we bought the GE Profile Series PEM31SF4SS. Unfortunately, the new model does not fit in the same opening. So now we must modify the cabinet to accommodate our new microwave and it is NOT a simple task.
BTW, this is the second new microwave we bought. The first was purchased several weeks ago and it arrived badly damaged. The box and packing material were in perfect condition, however the microwave had the top-rear corner crushed.

This microwave interferes with my WiFi. I have had numerous other GE microwaves and none of them did this. It must be the different outer case because it is under cabinet mountable. Also the interior is not large enough for the turntable to rotate with large containers on it.

This my 3rd GE Profile Microwave. I got my 1st as a gift in 1989. Each time I replace I am disappointed. My first was great. The design and quality have gone down hill. The only reason I continue to get it againn is because of the size-the only thing that has not changed. I have a custom space under my cabinets for it.
You eliminated the original glass interior bottom and put in a turntable-boo. The upper built in mixer was so much better. I could cook or warm in a 13x9 pan.. The overall power has decreased with each model. My original had a probe and a rack. You have diminished the appliance and kept the large price.

I am sorry to say that this microwave is well under expectations. My previous unit had twice the power and I can understand that the smaller size would yield less power. One would think the popcorn button would run the right time, but we have to add 30 more seconds to whatever size bag we use. That is unless the unit stops with an ERR message. The touchpad is not backlit so you can't read unless the kitchen lights are bright and that same touchpad does not always respond when touched. I can hardly wait until a better under-cabinet version comes out.

Our company has been purchasing this model or previous models for nearly a decade and have had good success with the durability of this model for everyday use by employees. We have some models that were installed in late 2013 that are still operable and that have likely been used in excess of 12,000 times by multiple shifts. The best feature is that we can have two microwaves on the same 15-amp circuit since they are 800 watts apiece!

We had the older version- this one is not as powerful and smaller interior also does not allow you to pause when reheating. That said, we needed a microwave for a cabinet space and this was the only one we could find that would fit.

We bought this GE Profile Microwave to replace the one we had and loved for 16 years. We positioned the first one as an under-cabinet microwave and had the new one installed in the same space. We were very disappointed when we found that because of a change in the door configuration, (unlike the old oven where the door did not go all the way to the edge of the microwave, the new one has a larger door that does go to left edge of the oven), and we can only open the door 2 - 3 inches before it binds with the cabinetry on the left. The space was perfect for the former model but doesn't work for the newer model for this reason. I would add that as a result of having a larger door, it closes rather loudly.

This unit replaced a GE microwave used for 11 years. It may not have as many features and it may take an extra few buttons to reheat something but it is quiet, and I really appreciate it at night when I want to use it and the rest of the household is asleep.

Had to get this model to fit into prescribed space. So disappointed. One thinks that appliance quality, design and features would improve over time - but no! It's a microwave so one deals with this decline in quality but the disappointment is key. Cheap features, no robust features but it fits - barely - the space it hast to. Not sure why GE has to promote poorer design and features.

We bought this as it was the only one that fit in the cabinetry we selected from Home Depot. It is nice looking, though the interior is a bit small. Our biggest worry, however, is that the door open button wobbles and does not seem as securely made as the other buttons. We are concerned that it will break after a few years, as our door open button did on our prior GE microwave.

This is a pretty solid microwave. We bought pretty much the same microwave for our old house. It lasted about six years, then the button you push to open the door started malfunctioning. It feels like that door open button is still the weak link. But we had to get this one as it was the ONLY one that would fit our pre-cut kitchen cabinets. Don't know why no other brand makes this size. It is nice looking and so far is working fine.

Purchased this microwave to replace my broken one that I've had for almost 20 years. It's supposedly the same model, just a current version. I was disappointed to learn that the wattage is reduced on the current models. The one I had previously was 1100 or 1200 watts, vs. this one is 900 watts. Not sure why they reduced the wattage, but it's not as powerful as it's previous model. It is a nice looking microwave, though.

Bought this appliance to replace an almost identical one that had failed. New model is less solid and lack, for example, an illuminated keypad. Dimensions are slightly different; the turntable is smaller (and is now too small for our dinner plates.) Nevertheless, the compact dimensions meet our kitchen requirements and we're happy enough with the replacement (three and a half stars)

I needed to replace a Monogram microwave and chose this GE model. Its size is similar and fits within a builtin. Features are simple but appropriate for our use. My Monogram lasted 15 years and hopefully this GE does also. I read about dimly lit front panel but it is perfectly fine for me. I read about cheap parts but I have not experienced that either.
